For quick info World Ocean Day celebrate on 8 June every year and for this year theme is "Our Oceans: Greening Our Future".

I dun have so much to celebrate anyway and even dunno any reason to celebrate on this date but i dun oppose to this ideas also. For me whatever work relating to save our ocean or whatever should be done regularly not just any on certain date or occasion.
